Elizabeth Booker Houston is a lawyer, social scientist, professor, standup comedienne, and political content commentator who hails from Memphis, Tennessee and now calls the Washington, DC metro area home. Elizabeth obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2013 from Christian Brothers University and her Juris Doctor and Master of Public Health degrees in 2017 from the University of Memphis. Hermia “Mia” Anita Shegog Whitlock – preacher’s kid and “baby daughter” born to the late Rev. Henry and Nannie Lee (Barnes) Shegog in Charlottesville, VA. Mia graduated cum laude from Walnut Hills High School; received a bachelor’s degree in communication with honors from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL; and earned a Doctor of Law Degree from University of Chicago Law School.
At the same time, Mia practiced law at prestigious Los Angeles law firms, taught at UCLA Law School, and represented Northrop Grumman as Senior Counsel. She was elected Los Angeles Black Women Lawyers President and served on the governing boards for California Black Lawyers, California Women Lawyers, and the Los Angeles Bar Association.

Timothy is a writer, trainer, educator, ordained minister, and expert in Hip-Hop and youth development. His works include the books Prayers Proverbs Parables and Where Are We Going, along with contributions to anthologies like The Bloomsbury Handbook of Hip Hop Pedagogy. As an Adjunct Professor at Howard University’s Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts, he teaches a Seminar in Hip Hop course. Timothy owns Techniques4Learning LLC, supporting organizations, schools, and colleges nationwide in youth engagement, staff training, and curriculum development. He is also the Chief Visionary Officer of HipHopEd, a platform dedicated to showcasing the educational brilliance and opportunities within Hip-Hop culture. Above all, Timothy treasures his roles as Jasmine and Isaiah’s father and Vanessa’s husband.
